A fond farewell to our Design Champions Workshops

It was a fond farewell to our Design Champions Workshops after an eye-opening seven months as our Timber Square 2 workshop series for Landsec came to an end last night. Each was led by a different member of the project team – architects, landscape architects, creative agencies, leasing agents, and more!

🏛️Our final session focused on ‘pulling back the curtain’ on all things planning, with our Managing Director, Kevin McKeever, talking Southwark politics and Lowick Account Manager Lucas Short explaining what it takes to engage with a community. Roger Hawkins and Matthew Pearson spoke through the plans pinpointing exactly where the Design Champions’ ideas and feedback influenced the plans (which were submitted last month), topped off by an exploratory discussion about new public art.

🏙️These co-design sessions have allowed people who live and work in the area to directly interact with experts in the built environment, upskilling and widening their knowledge, and most importantly contribute to a scheme they can lend their support to.

🎓 We were excited to learn that one of our champions was inspired by our work in delivering social value to the extent it had led them to a new career change. It’s a reminder of how social value can create meaningful change in people’s lives and we’re proud to have played a small part.
