Lowick Supports Consultation on Phoenix Yard Proposals in Camden

Lowick has been supporting K Cross Development Ltdwith all aspects of public and political engagement on the future of Phoenix Yard at 65–69 King’s Cross Road. Working closely with architectural practice Shorten, the project team has set out plans to bring the vacant historic buildings back into active use as a high-quality, accessibly priced hotel that complements the cultural and visitor offer of King’s Cross and Camden.

The exhibition materials showcased the site’s rich heritage, including buildings dating back to the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, and outlined plans to retain the brick façade, reveal new views through the building and deliver a sensitive two-storey addition that reflects the character of the area. Sustainability is embedded throughout the scheme, with improved energy efficiency, biodiversity enhancements, a partly glazed courtyard to maximise natural light and a target of BREEAM Excellent.

The project team have out a clear commitment to community benefit. This includes local recruitment and training opportunities to support careers in hospitality and an active ground floor that enhances the experience along King’s Cross Road.

Lowick will continue to lead public and political engagement as the proposals move through the planning process.
